Sony Mobile announces the Xperia sola, debuts Floating Touch Navigation

Sony Mobile has announced yet another designer smartphone for Xperia lovers, the Xperia sola. The Android powered gizmo debuts Sony’s new addition to its UI called “Floating Touch”, which would provide easy to use, quick, and smart web experience over the device. We have a 3.7-inch Reality Display with scratch resistant glass and Sony’s Mobile Bravia Engine, a 1 GHz Dual-Core Processor, Android 2.3 Gingerbread pre-loaded (supports upgrade to Android ICS 4.0 arriving this summer), NFC including the dynamic and revolutionary Xperia SmatTags, xLoud with 3D surround sound, DLNA and a 5MP camera with Fast Capture support. We even see great entertainment overdose packed into the phone with direct access to Sony Entertainment Network, which allows handset users to view unlimited music and movies over Music Unlimited and Video Unlimited streams. The Xperia sola is planned to launch globally over the second quarter this year. It would be available in three vibrant colors that include Black, Red, and White.

The exact pricing and release schedule for Xperia sola is yet to be out, we would share the update same as soon as it is up.

Sony Ericsson Bridge for Mac 2.0 to bring Software Update Support

Sony Xperia users have a reason to celebrate, as ‘Sony Ericsson Bridge for Mac 2.0’ would allow users with SW Update functionality on a Macintosh. Users who were earlier using Windows Software or PC Companion to update their device can also update it using this utility. The app would serve great convenience as users would not have to switch systems to update their smartphones.

Bridge for Mac is a simple and easy to use application for adding and synching new media including Movies, Music, TV Shows, Images and Playlists using iTunes. It also support direct transfer via mass storage and iPhoto.

For users who are new and have not yet experienced the app may download it using this link. The app requires Mac OS 10.5 or higher.

Hope for an early release to share my experience with everyone ! 😉
