Samsung confirms No Android ICS upgrade for Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab

Samsung confirms that Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab will not get Android ICS 4.0 update.  The manufacturer clarifies that hardware limitations are the reasons as to why the phones are not being updated. It is disappointing as  the Galaxy S is still being sold across various regions. Samsung states that the RAM and ROM size on these models do not adhere to work with “TouchWiz” and “experience enhancing software” streamlined for the ICS.

No Ice Cream Sandwich for Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab

The statement seems to be contradictive as the Nexus S accompanies a 1GHz Hummingbird processor and same memory specifications to that of a Galaxy S. Nexus S users although are getting the update for Android ICS 4.0 via OTA. This seems really unfair on the company’s part as the first announcement for ICS upgradeable Galaxy Smartphones included the aforesaid devices.

The new design for Android devices is trendier with support for tabbed browsing with ease to close, view and switch over tabs. Google+ for Android gets updated. Lets you Hangout from the Messenger.

Google+ app for Android just got updated with umber cool additions. The company plans to make our Christmas even more enjoyable by providing Hangouts straight out of the Messenger feature. Google also promises to update the iOS app very soon with the same additions. To use the aforesaid feature users need Android 2.3(Gingerbread or higher) and would also need a front facing camera to go on a face-to-face call. The app update also includes major bug fixes and enhancements including a new design layout for viewing photo albums, name based search and suggestion while starting a new messenger conversation, brand new icons to show images uploaded via Instant Upload, and the ability to leave individual one-on-one conversations. I tried to click some screenshots for the new G+ app but was not able to succeed as the front camera of my neo v went on standby while the screen got captured. I’ve still included some standard ones that I saw.
