Sony Xperia P and Xperia U announced at MWC 2012

MWC 2012 has finally begun with loads of surprises in store. The first day was full of big announcements and press conferences with most developers and technology partners previewing new stuff. Sony has announced two new Android powered gizmos, the Xperia P and the Xperia U that would be added to the Xperia NXT series.

The Xperia P debuts Sony’s Whitemagic display technology allowing the screen to be visible in across beaches, snow, and locations with complex visibility while automatically adjusting the brightness settings to improve performance and save battery life. The 4-inch Reality display makes movies and videos fun by integrating Sony’s Mobile BRAVIA Engine to provide ultra sharp image clarity. To enhance the overall multimedia and sharing experience one can also try multi-utility SmartDock that makes media sharing and playback easier and simple.

The Xperia P and Xperia U are to be launched globally by second quarter this year while we still await confirmation on pricing and further details.

Samsung introduces the Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1-inch) Android ICS tablet

MWC is pumping up the glamor in the tech arena, the bells are ringing and the big event is just a day away while we continue to hear new announcements from mobile and gadget manufacturers worldwide. Samsung with its continuous focus on Android as the future of mobile computing introduces the Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1-inch) tablet powered by Ice Cream sandwich 4.0. The product complements its duo, the newly launched Galaxy Tab 2 (7-inch) version. The tablet has a 10.1-inch WXGA PLS TFT display (1280×800 pixels), 1 GHz Dual-Core Processor, adds support for Micros cards, storage variants of 16GB and 32GB, Wi-Fi and 3G editions featuring HSPDA+ (speeds up to 21Mbps). We would see the tablet including Samsung’s Touch Wiz UI with a powerful battery of 7000 mAh.

The Galaxy Tab 2 (7-inch) and (10.1-inch) variants hit the UK during March this year while we still await confirmation on pricing and worldwide release.

LG has announced yet another super charged Android based smartphone addition to its portfolio, the Optimus 4X HD. The device was expected to preview at MWC 2012 although it has been earlier launched today. We see that the Korean Giant is keen with Android as the future of mobile technology with evident releases including the Optimus Vu, Optimus Tag LTE, etc.

The Optimus 4X HD brings along best-in-class specifications to all its previous releases so far sporting a 4.7-inch “True HD” IPS Display, a 1.5 GHz Quad-Core Tegra3 Processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB onboard storage, 8MP rear camera and 1.3MP front camera and to top up the cherry we have Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 preloaded. The Tegra3 Quad-Core processor is worlds only 4-PLUS-1 processor that includes a 5th“Companion core”, which is used to accommodate and support routine tasks while providing high-level multimedia without affecting battery life.

Motorola MOTOLUXE XT615 available in the UK with Clove Technology

The Motorola MOTOLUXE XT615 is now available in the UK with online technology retailer Clove. The product is readily in stock and is priced at £195 (£234 inclusive of VAT). The smartphone has a 4-inch edge-to-edge display, an 800 MHz processor, 8MP Auto-focus camera with LED flash, and 0.3MP front camera for video calling. The user interface integrates Moto Switch 2.0 UI while running Android Gingerbread 2.3.7.
