Earlier during the day LG’s Official Facebook Page posted its initial models that will be eligible to Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 Upgrade. The Optimus 2X, Optimus Black, Optimus 3D and Optimus LTE were among the upper end phones to be a part of upgrade program. The manufacturer also promises to evaluate the compatibility, features and performance of the ICS OS across multiple LG smartphones and plan to upgrade as many of them.
A complete list of models eligible for the upgrade would be available by December this year, although there is no specific time frame revealed by LG as to when the update would be released.
Sony Ericsson users finally got an answer to their queries on the Upgrade to the Android Ice Cream Sandwich. A recent blog post on the Sony Ericsson Official Blog stated that all devices belonging to Xperia 2011 Portfolio would be eligible for the upgrade. The manufacturer hasn’t confirmed as to when the devices will receive an upgrade as they are still working closely to integrate the latest UI and the existing set of features.
As per a recent update on Sony Ericsson Italia’s Facebook Page mentioned that the upgrade would be available by early 2012, probably March, although there is no specific announcement or release date by the manufacturer.
Hoping for an early release as Google and Samsung have already launched it a month back.
