LG Optimus Pad LTE is now official.

LG has officially announced its first tablet with LTE support the Optimus Pad LTE. The Android based tablet flaunts an 8.9 inch 1280×768 “True HD” IPS display, 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 2MP front camera and an 8MP rear camera. The device has an in-built internal storage of 32GB while being accompanied with an SD card slot with up to 32GB support. LG has made sure to integrate valuable features like DLNA and HDMI to enhance the overall media sharing experience. The tablet would ship with a 6800 mAh battery running Android 3.2 Honeycomb. The company has not shared any news about upgrades to Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.

“With tablets generating five times more traffic than the average smartphone, it’s not a huge jump to assume that tablet users need and want faster connectivity,” – Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of LG Mobile Communications Company.

The Optimus Pad LTE also integrates in-built features like Smart Movie Editor for image and video editing at an ease and Web Duet combines email, search, messaging and support for sharing at ease across multiple social networking sites all at one go.

The tablet would be released in LG’s home South Korea followed by an early release worldwide.

Sony Xperia S was a heartthrob at the CES 2012. Android and Sony Xperia lovers in the UK can now pre-order their Xperia S Smartphone (only black color) with the online retailer Clove. The product comes at a price of £389.99 exclusive of VAT with stocks expected to arrive by 5th March 2012.

Gmail Offline app for Chrome gets updated

Offline Google Mail for Chrome gets upated

Offline Google Mail for Chrome was launched back in August last year allowing users to sync email for offline usage. The application got updated today bringing some keys changes. The much awaited settings tab has now been added to the app allowing access users to choose the amount of email to sync. The sync interval can be set to 7 days, 2 weeks or a month. Users may also set a vacation responder from this tab if they are not able to answer mails right away.

Some other tweaks to the app include:

  • Access attachments offline: Emails that include attachments would automatically be downloaded and made available for offline use.
  • Use Keyboard Shortcuts: If you have enabled keyboard shortcuts for your Gmail account you would be  able to use them offline as well. If you need to remember the shortcut keys you press “?” for help.
  • Faster Performance: The application now enables speedy transfer and download of email messages. A number of bug fixes have also been made to make the app run better.

Sony Ericsson launches the Xperia ion and Xperia S Smartphones at CES 2012

The CES 2012 has been a handful of announcements with each mobile brand launching its set of devices to be launched. Sony Ericsson was not far in the league as it also introduced a host of gadgets and two new Xperia Smartphones to its portfolio. The smartphones are named the Xperia S and Xperia ion. The devices have brilliant and dynamic specs making devices of the future difficult to predict while making use of Google’s Android OS.

The Xperia ion would be first smartphone with LTE support by Sony. The phone would be exclusively available to the US mobile carrier AT&T.
