Sony Xperia S Pre-Order now with Clove UK

Sony Xperia S was a heartthrob at the CES 2012. Android and Sony Xperia lovers in the UK can now pre-order their Xperia S Smartphone (only black color) with the online retailer Clove. The product comes at a price of £389.99 exclusive of VAT with stocks expected to arrive by 5th March 2012.

Sony Ericsson launches the Xperia ion and Xperia S Smartphones at CES 2012

The CES 2012 has been a handful of announcements with each mobile brand launching its set of devices to be launched. Sony Ericsson was not far in the league as it also introduced a host of gadgets and two new Xperia Smartphones to its portfolio. The smartphones are named the Xperia S and Xperia ion. The devices have brilliant and dynamic specs making devices of the future difficult to predict while making use of Google’s Android OS.

The Xperia ion would be first smartphone with LTE support by Sony. The phone would be exclusively available to the US mobile carrier AT&T.

The Xperia S is yet another powerful handset with even bolder specifications those are quite similar to the Xperia ion. The IT giant Lenovo revealed its Android based smartphone the Lenovo S2 at CES 2012. The device has brilliant specs and operates on Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS. The device flaunts a secure kernel providing protection for users personal information while efficiently managing SMS and Network control on the go. It also features cloud storage that allows data sharing including your favorite videos, pictures, movies and files across varied platforms with dedicated cloud services provided by Lenovo.

Dell Streak 7 gets an update. Fixes known issues.

Dell Streak 7 Gets An Update

Dell Steak 7 owners need to rejoice as the Dell Streak 7 gets an update that would help resolve performance issues and bugs on the smartphone. The device was recently updated to Android 3.2 (Honeycomb) back in October 2011. The update would resolve majority of issues and is complete package that needs to be installed. It takes care of sound related concerns while being connected to a docking station and producing choppy noise. Besides the aforesaid issue the package would solve minor bugs and will help improve the overall device functionality.

In order to update the device please follow the steps below:

  • Backup entire data prior to the update
  • Download the update package via Dell:  Download Link
  • For convenience you may rename the file to “Update.pkg”
  • Connect the device in mass storage mode and copy the installer package on the root directory of the SD card.
  • Safely remove the device and turn off the Dell Streak.
  • Starting the device in recovery mode:  Keep the volume + button pressed and power of the phone. Keep the keys pressed until you see recovery menu.
  • Select the Update.pkg file that you placed on the SD card.
  • Select Software upgrade using volume keys and camera button to select. Be patient, as it will take a while.
  • Congratulations your Dell Streak 7 has now been updated.
  • Restore your data and enjoy.
